About The Department of Civil Engineering
The Department of CIVIL ENGINEERING was started in the year 2009. The admissions of the division are 30. The Department has 8 eminent faculty among them 1 are having Ph.D - Doctorate degrees, 7 are having M.Tech degrees in Structural Engineering and Transportation Engineering. The Department has 1 Professors, 1 Associate Professor and 7 Assistant Professors. Our faculty members aim at delivering top class education blending their rich research experience with classroom teaching.Coursera, NPTEL online certification course andAPSSDC initiated in the institute and many from CE department were certified in various courses.
Faculty of CE have filed 1 patent. All the faculty members are enthusiastically involved in research activities. The faculty published more than 10 research articles in various conferences, national and international journals for 20-21 AY.
The average experience of the faculty in the department is 10 years. The department has nine physical laboratories viz., Concrete laboratory, Transportation Engineering laboratory, Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory, Environmental Engineering laboratory, Survey laboratory, Geology Laboratory, Hydraulic Engineering Laboratory, Strength of Materials and Computer aided design Laboratory. All laboratories are equipped with state of the art equipment to suit the needs of academia and industry.
The department is maintaining good rapport with surrounding industries and governmental agencies to support the students in carrying their summer internship for one month duration. The students are prepared with multi-dimensional skill sets covering all the required graduate attributes. More focus is given on practical learning, projects, and research. The department is arranging guest lectures from industry personnel, industrial visits and tours every year to fill the gap between academia and industry. The department is also conducting workshops and conferences at regular intervals in the latest and innovative areas of civil engineering.
Many students got placements in civil engineering core companies and IT companies. Some of the students are pursuing their post-graduation in reputed institutions in India and abroad in every batch.
Students are actively participating in APSSDC skill training programs and they are also offered certification courses. Personality Development programs are frequently conducted to enrich the students. These programmes help in imparting and developing soft skills which help the students to improve the commitment at all levels.
